According to Valkkinen, Primavista has stood the test of time because it is both reliable and highly adaptable.
“Flexibility is the greatest benefit. We don’t need to ask for help with every new account or cost center. We’ve learned to use the system ourselves, which makes it easy to implement changes quickly.”

Supporting Budgeting and Forecasting
NCC uses Primavista for budgeting and forecasting, as well as for compiling overall budgets.
“Primavista is actively used when monitoring actual performance. While the same data might be available elsewhere, Primavista provides the clearest view.”
Valkkinen particularly values a feature that allows calculated rows when forecasting and budgeting. This functionality calculates a projected balance for the entire year based on actual transactions—even if the current year’s budget is not yet complete.
“You can see the average annual spend, for example for travel costs. It helps form a comprehensive view of expenses. Primavista is excellent for reviewing the big picture.”
She also highlights how clearly Primavista presents the current situation:
“Many people use Primavista to quickly understand where things stand. If you want a fast overview of trends in a business unit or performance of a cost center or project, Primavista makes it easy to dive into the data.”
Seamless Integration with Other Systems
Data transfer to Primavista is smooth and efficient. For example, when NCC changed its accounting system a few years ago, data was successfully transferred into Primavista.
“Despite system changes often being challenging, the transition was surprisingly smooth.”
A Primavista consultant supported the transition on-site and provided guidance on using the system.
Primavista integrates easily with other systems and is currently connected to NCC’s project management and accounting systems.
“We utilize Primavista’s automated data transfers. Data from the accounting system flows in as frequently as we need.”
Close Collaboration and Easy Access to Support
Valkkinen summarizes the collaboration as highly effective and close:
“The cooperation has worked extremely well. It’s a big advantage that we’ve been working with the same person all these years. Instead of a large, distant service desk, we can easily reach out and know we’ll get help quickly,” Valkkinen concludes.
